A long-established restaurant founded in the Meiji era, located right in front of the natural monument “Ogama”.
Nozawa Onsen, where the life of the villagers is still alive, has a unique atmosphere filled with the warmth of human skin. The village has carefully preserved its many traditional festivals and 13 public bathhouses with free-flowing hot-spring water, preserving the atmosphere of the good old days. The village’s famous “Ogama” is a 90-degree hot spring, where villagers are busy boiling wild vegetables, eggs, and wild plants. Sumiyoshiya is located in front of the hot spring, and has been in business for 140 years, retaining the clean and elegant appearance and atmosphere of a hot spring in the Meiji era.
